Orton, from Caliber Precision visits Northwest Career and Technical Academy to Speak to Students

Guest speaker, Bodi Orton, from Caliber Precision visited our Anacortes campus to share with our students what is like to be an entrepreneur.

Caliber Precision takes pride in their craftsmanship, their customers create a diverse base ranging from Defense, Aerospace, Commercial Construction, Environmental, Commercial Fishing, Bio Medical and Electronics. Honesty and Integrity is their core passion, which is why they produce outstanding products and continue to meet the needs of their customers.

Bodi’s presentation was inspirational. He is driven, a visionary and a perfectionist. He also shared that he has spent a number of years locally coaching both boys and girls wrestling programs. Bodi is proof a balance or hard work, determination and having fun pays off when it comes to succeeding in life.

Northwest Metalcraft Completes Acquisition of Caliber Precision

Marysville,  WA – Northwest Metalcraft Inc., a subsidiary of Metalcraft Industries Inc., of Westminster, Colorado, has acquired the assets of Caliber Precision Inc. of Mount Vernon, Washington. The acquisition will increase Northwest Metalcraft’s capabilities in CNC Machining, the depth of human capital and broaden sales channels with new markets.

Northwest Metalcraft is a manufacturer specializing in the machining of commercial aerospace components for the Boeing, Airbus, and Gulfstream supply chain. Caliber Precision is a precision machining company offering milling and turning to the defense and industrial markets. Both companies are AS9100 accredited, the international standard that encompasses the ISO 9001 quality standard, and sets guidelines for implementing a Quality Management System (QMS) for the aviation, space, and defense organizations. Both companies are International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) registered. ITAR controls the export and import of defense articles and services on the United States Munitions List (USML). Caliber management will continue forward with the new ownership ensuring seamless performance with our valued customers.

Equipped with Renishaw’s new 5-axis PH20 probe head, NWM is able to employ not only automation in its quality lab, but AI, artificial intelligence.  

The new Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex 7106 is capable of measuring 27” x 39” x 23” with .0001 accuracy!

Additionally, off-machine measuring verification allows us to measure parts without the need for a CMM operator, allowing your parts to run continuously on our CNC machines. Coupled with the touch-trigger head, part measurement cycle time is 3X faster as well.

This Mitutoyo CMM is MiCAT Planner compatible.
